Recovery fee
In certain cases, CAPA charges a recovery fee of 10% of the recovered amount where all of the following apply:
- CAPA's involvement contributed materially to a successful monetary recovery
- Attribution is clear and agreed in advance
- The fee applies to the specific dispute type as disclosed at case activation
The recovery fee is not charged in every case. It applies only where clearly disclosed, and is not charged on top of Escalation Pack fees unless separately agreed. If a recovery fee applies to your case, this will be stated explicitly before you activate.
Where a recovery fee applies, it is charged only on amounts actually recovered — not on claimed or estimated amounts.
What is not included
CAPA pricing does not include:
- Legal representation or advice — CAPA is not a law firm and does not provide legal advice
- Filing fees, government charges, or third-party costs associated with formal proceedings
- Ombudsman or tribunal fees (most consumer schemes are free to lodge, but check your specific scheme)
- Translation, notarisation, or document certification services
Pricing questions
What if I only want triage and decide not to proceed?
That is completely fine. Triage is free and carries no obligation. If you decide your dispute is not worth pursuing, or that you want to handle it another way, you owe nothing.
Can I activate a case and then cancel?
Case activation is a one-time payment for a specific case — there is nothing to cancel. If you are on the monthly plan and wish to cancel, you can do so at any time. Active cases remain accessible until the end of your billing period.
What does the Escalation Pack cover exactly?
The Escalation Pack covers the preparation, structuring, and review of a formal submission to a regulator, ombudsman, or consumer tribunal. It is designed for cases where you have exhausted internal complaints processes and need to escalate to an external body. It does not cover legal representation or any fees charged by the receiving body.
When exactly does the 10% recovery fee apply?
The recovery fee applies only where it is disclosed at case activation, CAPA's involvement contributed materially to the recovery, and the outcome is a clear monetary result. If you are unsure whether a recovery fee applies to your case, this will be made explicit before you commit to any paid tier.
Is the recovery fee charged on top of my subscription or case activation fee?
The recovery fee is separate from and in addition to case activation or subscription fees. However, it is not charged on top of Escalation Pack fees unless this has been separately agreed. All applicable fees will be disclosed clearly before you activate a case.
Do I need a subscription to activate a single case?
No. Case activation is a standalone one-time payment. The monthly plan is best if you have multiple disputes or expect your case to require ongoing management over time. For a single, contained dispute, case activation is the right choice.
Are there any other fees I should know about?
No. CAPA does not charge hidden fees, auto-renewal fees without notice, or fees not disclosed before activation. If the pricing structure for your specific case differs from the above, this will be communicated explicitly before you commit to anything.
Not sure which option is right for you?
Start with a free triage. It costs nothing and will give you a clearer picture of your dispute and your options before you decide to commit to anything.
